CareerTrain

Welcome to CareerTrain Publishing ...

We provide affordable, easy to read resources to advisers and coaches. We wrote our first book, The One to One Toolkit in 2008 to meet the needs of busy advisers and coaches who wanted to improve their skills, but didn’t have the time or inclination to read heavy academic texts.

We understood the problem well. As trainers and assessors  in the field of  Information, Advice and Guidance, we found ourselves constantly searching for short, sharp, practical training materials that were priced within the reach of all.

Since then, The One to One Toolkit has received excellent reviews, both from new practitioners wanting to learn the basics, and old hands wanting to hone their skills.

It is now on the reading lists of many training providers and universities. Please click here to find out more and why it is so popular.

Working one to one is challenging enough – no sooner had we got The One to One Toolkit to print, when it became apparent that many coaches and advisers were being asked to work with groups, and some of them were terrified!

There are many books available on teaching and training that can help to some degree, but giving advice to a group is not quite the same.

We wrote The Groupwork Toolkit to help coaches and advisers recognise the skills they already had that would stand them in good stead for groupwork.

It will also give them strategies, outlines and models that will help them survive and thrive when working with groups. Please click here to find out more and why it is so popular.

In 2012 we have added The Job Interview Toolkit to our range of topics and publications.

This additional toolkit publication has been a result of more and more people requiring help and advice on this subject. Please click here to find out more and why it has become like the previous publications, so popular.
